The US Air Force has awarded a $1.5 billion contract to Boeing to develop an advanced fighter jet system. The system, which will be used to enhance the US Air Force's fighter jet capabilities, is expected to significantly improve the US Air Force's ability to conduct air-to-air and air-to-ground operations.
System Capabilities
The Boeing system will be able to conduct a variety of fighter jet operations, including air-to-air combat and air-to-ground strikes. The system will also be able to conduct reconnaissance and surveillance missions, allowing the US Air Force to gather critical intelligence.
The system is expected to have a combat range of over 1,500 miles.
'The Boeing system will be a critical component of the US Air Force's fighter jet capabilities,' said Boeing CEO, David Calhoun.
