The US Navy has awarded a $1.2 billion contract to General Dynamics to develop an advanced submarine system. The system, which will be used to enhance the US Navy's submarine capabilities, is expected to significantly improve the US Navy's ability to conduct underwater operations.
System Capabilities
The General Dynamics system will be able to conduct a variety of underwater operations, including surveillance and reconnaissance. The system will also be able to conduct underwater attacks, allowing the US Navy to disable enemy submarines and surface ships.
The system is expected to have a speed of over 30 knots.
'The General Dynamics system will be a critical component of the US Navy's submarine capabilities,' said General Dynamics CEO, Phebe Novakovic.
